Lagos, Nigeria – October 31, 2022 – The Nigerian apex bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), adjudged Africa’s foremost payment solutions company, Remita Payment Services Limited (RPSL), a subsidiary of FINTECH group SystemSpecs Limited, the winner of the “PAYMENT SERVICE PROVIDER OF THE YEAR” award.

The award was presented on the 24th of October, during the celebration of the one-year anniversary of the e-Naira themed “eNaira365days.” The eNaira is CBN-issued digital currency that provides a unique form of money denominated in Naira that serves as both a medium of exchange and a store of value.

The award serves as a testament to the company’s efforts in deepening the use-case for the e-naira and raising awareness about the digital currency. Remita was the first payment platform to offer its usage to Nigerians.

Consistent with its commitment to promoting simplified payment solutions in Nigeria, RPSL, was applauded for deploying e-Naira in the successful delivery of faster transaction processing time, increased transaction security, and the elimination of multiple transaction failure points, among others, to individuals and businesses.

In a similar development, the Africa largest country’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the policy implementing arm its Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, recognised SystemSpecs with the “Indigenous Technology Promotion – Software” award at its annual national award ceremony, for the exemplary commitment to the development of homegrown technologies to address local challenges.

The CBN award was received by, Mujib Ishola, in Lagos, whilst that of NITDA was received in Abuja by the divisional head, business development, Abayomi Oniku and group head, partnership and special initiatives, Hussein Akinkuolie.
